Fall pre-season practices began today in Taos at Taos Eco Park. The teams are looking forward to a great season which sees its first competitions on August 22-23 for the boys Sangre de Christo Classic tournament, featuring some great competition from area teams to start their varsity season. The tigers lost few players last year, but most notably, their goalkeeper Yair Villa and defender David Ayala, who began his preseason training with Coach Miller of Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, CO this week. The Lady Tigers begin their season during their tournament August 29-30, giving them a little more time to prepare for the games than the guys. Losing three key starters, junior forward Lucia Costanza to a transfer to La Cueva, and senior forwards Angelica Pacheco, Denver University and Zoie Hensley, Tennessee Tech, who will retain her number 7 this year playing for the Golden Eagles.
